Holocaust survivor Jack Krepp speaks with VA North Texas staff as part of the Chaplain's Summer speaker Series.

A palpable atmosphere hung in the Dallas VA Chapel as Jack Krepp recount his stories of survival during the Holocaust and in concentration camps. His message of survival was clear.

"It was my dreams and wanting what other people still had that kept me going,” said Krepp. One of those dreams that seemed outlandish to Krepp at the time was to have a whole loaf of bread to himself. This was a tragic tale for Krepp over many years. Quite a few listeners were hard pressed to hold back tears as they listened to his stories, moving tragedy to tales of inspiration. Mr. Krepp was the third guest speaker in the Dallas VA Chaplain Service’s recurring Summer Series ‘Talking with God,” projected every Tuesday through mid-August. The stories are meant to preserve history and serve as reminders that there’s always hope—even in the bleakest times. 

Each week will feature guest speakers discussing a wide range of topics--various theological beliefs, race relations, mindfulness, the role of faith in and after military combat, and more.
