Drug Information/Pharmacoeconomics

Residents rotating through the Drug Information/Pharmacoeconomics section will review basic statistical analysis, perform literature evaluation, answer and log drug information questions, perform drug use evaluations, assign daily consults to specialized clinical pharmacists, learn the daily duties of formulary management (including how to evaluate alternatives to the formulary when necessary; how to handle Restricted Drugs and Special Handling Drugs), report adverse drug events, work on personal research projects, prepare for The Joint Commission on Hospital Accreditation and work on patient safety topics.
