November 8, 2013
Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center and the City of Bonham will host the 23rd Annual Regional Veterans Day Program, Thursday, November 7, 9:30 a.m., at the Bonham High School Warrior football stadium.
Colors will be presented by the Paralyzed Veterans of America (PVA) color guard. Military vehicles from the Military Vehicle Preservation and Historical Club of Sherman, and the Military Heritage Collection of Nevada will also be present.
Guest speaker will be Chief Master Sergeant Vance Clarke (U.S. Air Force-Ret.). Clarke began in the supply career field in which he served as the superintendent of four supply flights and worked at air staff and major command levels. He also served as a command chief master sergeant in six different commands for almost 10 years. Clarke served in this capacity for Air Force Recruiting Service, 7th Air Force and four wings, including the 386th Air Expeditionary Wing, Ali Al Salem, Kuwait during his 30 year Air Force career. As a command chief master sergeant, he served as the senior enlisted leader, responsible for executing all enlisted matters and enabling the development of the war fighting maturation of all airmen on behalf of his commanders.
This event is a grand opportunity for Bonham and surrounding communities to honor Veterans and serves as an educational opportunity for students to learn more about Veterans and their sacrifice for our freedom throughout history.
