Dallas VA Medical Center Welcomes the Public to Health Fair

DALLAS - VA North Texas Health Care System will host its 24th Annual Community Health Fair at Dallas VA Medical Center on Saturday, November 2, 2013, 9 a.m. - 2 p.m. This event will provide free services for the community including:

  • blood pressure checks
  • EKG services
  • Information on mental health, nutrition, weight loss, pain management and more
  • Flu vaccines; limited for Veterans only; Veterans must bring identification card or DD-214.

Mammograms will be available and must be preregistered with Methodist Health Connection by calling 214-947-0026. Financial assistance is available for those who qualify (sponsored by Susan G. Komen for the Cure).

"As a health care organization that serves Veterans, it's our responsibility to ensure our Veterans, their families and the community is aware of what's available not only at our facilities, but also general health information useful for everyone," said Jeffery Milligan, Director, VA North Texas Health Care System.

Other organizations to attend include Veterans Affairs Regional Office, American Federation for the Blind, Devry Learning Institute, Mothers Against Drunk Driving, People Helping People and Urban League of Greater Dallas.
