Vocational Rehabilitation: Therapeutic & Supported Employment Services (TSES)
Therapeutic and Supported Employment Services Workshop
Located in Fort Worth, the TSES Workshop assists Veterans address barriers associated with obtaining full-time employment. Sobriety Support, Chaplain, Occupational Therapy, and group therapy sessions are also regularly scheduled.
Located in Dallas, Bonham, and Fort Worth, the Transitional Work Therapy Program places Veterans in various work situations to develop marketable skills, improve employability, increase self-confidence and esteem, and evaluate the capacity to sustain the demands of work. In conjunction with care management and counseling, the program strives to provide Veterans with independent employment and maximum self-sufficiency.
The Transition Work Program offers a 6-week Job Club covering such topics as resume building, overcoming barriers, social skills, computer literacy, interview skills, and job performance.
The Supported Employment Program actively seeks employment opportunities for Veterans with outside employers and businesses along with coaching and ongoing support. The Supported Employment program helps Veterans with serious behavioral health issues locate and maintain competitive community employment, matching their vocational interests with appropriate jobs. Once participants have a job, the program continues supporting them with coaching.
Community Based Employment Services
Community Based Employment Services focuses assisting returning Veterans to find employment quickly through rapid engagement in community job searching.
HVCES coordinates efforts between VA and non-VA employment programs, federal and state agencies and local employers to improve employment outcomes for Veterans who have experienced homelessness. Contact the VA North Texas Community Employment Coordinator who develops relationships with potential employers who might be able to hire Veterans and works with existing VA employment programs and local workforce development organizations to identify other employment-related resources.
