VA North Texas Health Care System
Bonham Rural Health
The Bonham Rural Health Rotation allows a unique opportunity for residents to experience and participate in the intimacy of working in a small, close-knit environment. One may experience firsthand being part of a team with health care providers from a variety of disciplines that have been working together for a long time to benefit the health care and well being of our veterans in a rural setting. The residents will actively participate as members of interdisciplinary treatment teams in a variety of settings as well as being afforded ample opportunity for personal contacts with patients, providers, and all disciplines. Rotations may include patient care, multiple disease state management, and medication management experience in Home Based Primary Care which involves home visits, Geriatrics in a both nursing home and outpatient environments, chronic disease state management and drug information in an ambulatory care setting through the PACT (Patient Aligned Care Team), as well as serving as a member of an anticoagulation clinic. We would like to encourage all residents to become a member of the Bonham "family" during their rotation and invite all residents who want to truly make a difference in the lives of our veterans to participate in the Bonham Rural Rotation.
